Valdubon Roble tinto red 75cl 2009 Ribera del Duero
Valdubón oaked red is made entirely from Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes. The vineyards which supply Valdubón are located in many parts of Ribera del Duero, but are principally in the villages of Roa and Milagros. The vineyards are carefully managed and monitored, with special attention paid to thinning out the bunches of grapes to 7 or 8 per vine, creating a maximum yield of 4.500 kg per hectare.
Young and lively in colour, full deep cheery red, with noticeable violet tones in the rim. The nose is very expressive, rich in fresh fruit, notably strawberries and ripe plums. Its aroma profile is completed by the fine notes of coconut, vanilla and liquorice, from its short time in wood. The palate is silky and structured, full of ripe, polished tannins from the wood. Bright and attractive with good acidity, well developed overall, with a very long finish. It is ready to drink as a young wine, although its structure will allow it to keep well for some time in bottle. A wine to drink on its own, or to accompany fine meat dishes.
