Bush beer Prestige de Nuits 75cl Brasserie Dubuisson

How Bush prestige de Nuits came about:

When he got back from Burgundy in France, where he had been buying wine in the Nuits-Saint-Georges region, Hugues Dubuisson came up with the idea of maturing Bush de Noël in oak casks which had previously contained the famous Côtes de Nuits. After 6 months of maturing, 210 protoype bottles were drawn for presentation to the specialist press. The test was conclusive and Bush prestige de Nuits was born! The Brasserie then decided to buy 25 Nuits St. Georges casks, each of them holding 228 litres, so that Bush prestige de Nuits could be produced continuously. The beer is now packaged in screen-printed 75cl bottles.

How Bush prestige de Nuits is made:

At the start of the process Bush de Nuits is a Bush de Noël which has been matured for more than 6 months in oak barrels previously used to hold the famous Nuits Saint Georges wine, instead of being traditionally kept in storage tanks at 0°C. This amazing process means that Bush de Nuits develops a very full palette of flavours. During the bottling process, a small amount of sugar and yeast are added to thye beer which is then placed in a hot room for 3 weeks and develops a kind of refermentation in the bottle which, in addition to carbonation and thus conditioning, gives it a natural cloudiness.

Tasting Bush de Nuits:

The old-style maturing, in oak barrels previously used to hold Nuits Saint Georges wine, allows the taster to enjoy a highly flavousome beer with wine-like aromas of red fruits giving it an amazingly harmonious balance in the mouth with sweetness, a hint of acidity and a relatively dry aftertaste in spite of the high density of the beer. This is great art! The powerful taste, the rich aromas, the exclusive bottle and a limited distribution all make Bush de Nuits a truly exceptional beer. In terms of gastronomy, Bush de Nuits has a very distinctive character and goes very well with spicy, flavoured dishes.

Storing and servind Bush de Nuits:

As Bush prestige de Nuits is a "bière sur lie" (a beer with yeast), it can easily be kept for 2 to 3 years - or even longer- in a good, fairly dark cellar with a constant temperature of around 15°C. We recommend storing it upright. Bush prestige de Nuits reveals its full flavour when served at a temperature of 12°C. In all cases, do not refrigerate the bottle as it will considerably reduce the aromas emanation. To get the very most out of the flavours of Bush prestige de Nuits, use Bush glasses or a 12,5cl "galopin" glass.
