Nose: "Opens attractively sweet & fragrant - carrying a macerated fruit quality"

Palate: "Sweetly spiced with a chewy mouth feel + a subtle sweet smoke character."

Finish: "Medium long with soft oak & a hazelnut praline style in a more'ish way."

Douglas Laing:

Douglas Laing is a proud family-owned business. Today it's headed by Fred And his granddaughter Cara. Together, they bring you Douglas Laing's Old Particular Single Cask Selection. A Particulary sought after range of individually-selected Malts from all over Scotland. Each bottled the FDL way.

Like the first generation of the Laing family, you see, the second and the third also want you to enjoy the finest Single Malt exactly as the distiller intended, in all its glory. Which means not adding any colouring or chill filtering our spirit, but instead "leaving well alone", or to be more precise, allowing the naturally present oils, fats and enzymes in the whisky to make their own special contribution to its nose, mouthfeel, palate and finish. Because only in this way does the original character of the Malt really shine through.

The result is as close as most come to experiencing that rarest of pleasures. Sampling a dram straight from its cask in the hallowed surroundings of a distiller warehouse.

Combining the skills of the distiller's time-honoured craft with the million and one little idiosyncrasies bestowed by each stave of oak as the whisky is maturing, every Old Particular Single Cask bottling is a marvel in its own right and truly unique.
