Savennières Clos le Grand Beaupréau 75cl 2007 Domaine Ogereau
Domaine Ogereau is in the Loire Valley – in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon, a tributary of the Loire. All of the vineyards (20 hectares in total) are appellation contrôlée. The family domaine was established in the 1890s. Since taking over the running of the domaine in 1989, Vincent and Catherine Ogereau haven’t stopped striving to improve the quality of their wines. They are now among the most highly reputed producers in Anjou. Their wines have been praised by wine writers both in France and internationally with recommendations throughout their range – from the simplest to our super-premium.
Varietal : 100% Chenin
Winemaking : Harvesting by great tries to maturity (thin-skinned berries) Vendange full pressed directly and with caution. Fermentation and livestock in oak barrels 400 liters. Livestock on the lees for 15 months.
Tasting notes : Cuvée high-end area of the land on the "Clos le Grand Beaupréau" situation highest Savennières (terroir very ventilated exposed to the south, on a floor of shale and sands). Robe brilliant glare gold. Very mature and mineral. Dimension land provided by the unique situation of Savennières. Bouche deep, very classy, with a fine and a large volume persistence. In a tense style with a freshness bringing great energy.
Accompaniments : Wine character and racy, marked by its terroir. Vin structured and rich in good agreement with: Crustaceans to firm flesh (lobsters, lobsters) Saint-jacques, marinated fish Fish Loire (zander, pike, shad, etc.) and white sea fish (turbot, saint-pierre, etc.) White meats and poultry roasted Cheeses well refined (county, Beaufort, st-maur etc.)
